What Does It Take to Make the New Care Team?

Because of our high expectations, not everyone is a good fit with our team. We've identified three key qualities that New Care staff must have to be successful with our agency:

Independence
The successful medically intensive home health care nurse enjoys one-to-one client care and the opportunity to work independently. This independence requires good assessment skills, a self-starting personality, and good nursing judgment.

Professionalism
Home care nurses care for people in their home environment, in contrast to hospital or facility nurses who work in a controlled setting. The ability to balance compassion and professionalism as you work with clients each day is a special quality that New Care nurses must have to be successful.

Respect
Respect is the foundation upon which a successful client relationship is built as well as an essential ingredient to professionalism. Working in a family's home can sometimes be a delicate situation, and it's important to consider their wishes regarding where and how you provide care. This is especially true when a family is coping with a recent change in the health of a loved one.

Are you a recent graduate?

It isn't always the most experienced person who succeeds in medically intensive home health care. Sometimes it's the person with an open mind and flexible personality. That's why we consider new graduates for hire too.

Are you a retired nurse?

We will update your skills with one-to-one training with our clients. We will also offer you appropriate in-services and classes.
