Nursing Responsibilities
To provide high quality medically intensive home care, we fully train, educate and orient our nursing staff. To mutually and more clearly define the respectful roles of the clients, families, and nursing staff, each nurse will be responsible to carry out the following:
- Function as "specialized professional support" to the client.
- Provide medical treatments, administer medications, and assess side effects/drug reactions. Perform nursing assessments, personal hygiene tasks, and shift routines.
- Maintain and operate client's equipment, including ready access to any necessary properly functioning emergency or backup equipment.
- Communicate client's physical assessments to the physician and receive physician orders.
- Report staffing concerns and changes to the New Care Office, if appropriate.
- Maintain an adequate and appropriate supply of medications, supplies, and chart forms in the client's home.
- Dress the client and communicate any clothing needs to appropriate persons.
- Provide support for family-identified play activities and social outlets.
- Keep the immediate client's home environment clean and safe.
Our nurses are carefully screened to deliver the high quality support services that you deserve. Learn more about our nurses or contact New Care to schedule a consultation.
