New Care Responsibilities
New Care is dedicated to delivering high quality medically intensive home health care so that you can live a safe and independent life. To mutually and more clearly define the respectful roles of the clients, families, and nursing staff, we will be responsible for the following:
- Understand that families using medically intensive home health care for their loved ones are experiencing one of the most stressful and challenging situations that they will ever be asked to endure.
- Provide nursing services to assist and support the families with their tasks.
- Respect the family's home environment.
- Provide complete confidentiality of all information regarding medically intensive care and family life.
- Respect parental roles and rights when the client is a child.
- Schedule and manage necessary nursing services within the bounds of safe nursing practice.
- Gain proper training in assessment skills, thoroughly orient to the client's needs, and be educated about the equipment necessary for the client's care.
- Assist clients in learning any aspect of the care they wish to learn.
- Provide nursing progress reports and meet with the nursing and supervisory staff when needed.
- Provide no consultations about anything within your home to outside sources or agencies without prior approval, unless there is a danger to a client's health or immediate safety or disclosure is required by law or regulation.
- Make every possible effort to replace nurses who may call in sick or have other emergencies that may take them away from their job. However, because of New Care's commitment to employ only properly trained and oriented nurses for each client, there will be occasional lapses in coverage.
